Mini Bike Nights – FAQs
Who are Mini Bike Nights for?
Mini Bike Nights are open to:
- Children from 5 years old – you may need to prove your child’s age if they are very small and look younger
- Teenagers and adults
- New riders and experienced riders
Sessions are structured to give everyone the right track time for their experience level.
What is the Foundation Session?
The Foundation Session (16:30–17:30) is designed for:
- Younger riders
- First-time circuit riders
- Complete novices
It provides a calmer, more controlled environment where riders can learn, build confidence and get used to the circuit.
Does my child have to ride in the Foundation Session?
We’d encourage younger riders and newer riders to try the Foundation Session, especially if they’re just starting out.
However, children who already ride confidently are welcome to continue riding in the mixed session, as long as the instructor on the night agrees it’s appropriate.
Some young but experienced riders may:
- Ride in the Foundation Session
- Ride in the later mixed session
- Or ride in both sessions
This flexibility allows confident younger riders to help set the pace and act as positive examples for newer riders, while still enjoying the later sessions.
Will my child be riding with adults?
During the Foundation Session, only younger and novice riders are on track.
During the later session, ages are mixed, but riders are grouped by bike type and speed, not age. This is closely managed by staff to keep sessions safe and enjoyable.
Is my child ready to move into the later session?
Every rider progresses at their own pace.
Your child may be ready for the mixed session if they:
- Are comfortable controlling their bike
- Can ride a consistent line
- Understand basic track etiquette
- Are aware of other riders around them
Our instructors will advise and will only agree to progression when it’s appropriate.
What if my child isn’t ready yet?
That’s absolutely fine.
Some riders stay in the Foundation Session for a while, particularly at a young age. There’s no pressure or expectation to move up before they’re ready.
Will new riders get help?
Yes.
Experienced riders and instructors are on hand to:
- Guide track walks
- Explain the circuit layout
- Help new riders understand lines, braking points and general track awareness
This support helps new riders settle in and gain confidence quickly.
Can parents watch?
Yes. Parents and guardians are welcome to watch from the designated spectator areas.
For safety reasons, parents are not permitted on track, but staff and instructors are always happy to talk through how a session is going.
What safety kit is required?
All riders must wear:
- Full leathers (one-piece or two-piece zipped together)
- Motorcycle or MX boots
- Motorcycle gloves
- A full-face helmet
Clear visors or goggles are required during low-light conditions.
What bikes are allowed?
Mini Bike Nights are open to:
- Mini Motos
- Pit Bikes (140–160cc)
- Super Minis (85cc two-stroke, CRF150)
- 125cc endurance bikes
MX bikes, Supermotos, off-road tyres and larger capacity bikes are not permitted.
Do I need a membership?
Membership is optional.
Regular riders may choose to purchase a Mini Bike Membership, which provides:
- A membership number
- Faster sign-on
- £5 off each Mini Bike Night
Non-members can still ride by signing on as usual.
Do I still need to sign on every time?
Yes. All riders must sign on at the circuit each visit to confirm:
- Attendance
- Briefing received
- Bike and safety kit compliance
Can we attend just the early session?
Yes. You’re welcome to attend only the Foundation Session if that suits you and your child. It will be £20 per bike.
What happens if someone rides dangerously?
Staff monitor all sessions.
If a rider’s behaviour becomes unsafe:
- They will receive a warning
- They may be black-flagged
- They may be asked to leave for the evening
Safety always comes first.
Do sessions still run if the light drops?
Yes. As light levels reduce:
- Floodlights are switched on as required
- Clear visors or goggles must be worn
If conditions become unsafe, sessions may be paused or adjusted.
Who makes the final decisions on the night?
The instructor and event manager on the night have final authority over:
- Session grouping
- Rider progression
- Safety decisions
These decisions are made with rider safety and enjoyment in mind.
