24-Hour Karting Championship 2026
The 24-Hour Karting Championship brings together a diverse grid of drivers and teams — from professionals to first-time entrants — across both Owner Driver and Hire Kart categories.
To ensure fair, competitive, and structured racing at every round, all teams are classified into sub-classes based on experience, resources, and driver eligibility.
Owner Driver Classes
Owner Driver Master (Over 40s)
All drivers must be aged 40 or above.
One driver under 40 is permitted per team but may only drive a maximum of 6 hours across the 24-hour race.
The under-40 driver must inform Timekeeping when on track and record stint times and driver order throughout the event.
Masters teams compete for dedicated class trophies and championship points.
Owner Driver Elite
The top professional category, reserved for the fastest and most experienced teams.
Operates under tighter technical control by the organisers to ensure competitive balance.
Includes optional controlled engines and tyres to guarantee parity and performance consistency.
Teams typically feature high-level national or international drivers, often with managed pit crews and data support.
Owner Driver Super Pro
A professional-grade class for team-managed outfits running at near-elite standards.
Technical freedom is slightly broader than Elite, though still monitored for fairness.
Designed for teams that blend professional preparation with independent management.
Owner Driver Pro
A semi-professional level for competitive, well-organised teams with experience in national or long-format events.
Emphasis on endurance consistency and racecraft over outright pace.
Owner Driver Club
The entry-level endurance class, ideal for new or developing owner-driver teams.
Focused on affordability, accessibility, and driver progression.
Strict parity rules keep competition close and engaging for all entrants.
Hire Kart Classes
Hire Master (Over 40s)
All drivers must be aged 40 or above.
One under-40 driver may compete for a maximum of 6 hours across the 24-hour race.
The team must notify Timekeeping when this driver is on track and maintain stint logs.
Masters teams have their own class standings and trophies.
Hire Elite
The highest level within the Hire Kart Championship.
Run under tight technical control by the organisers, with optional controlled engines and tyres to maintain parity.
Designed for highly experienced endurance racers and team-managed entrants competing at the sharp end of the field.
Hire Club
The core endurance racing category for capable but non-professional hire teams.
Balanced competition focused on teamwork, reliability, and consistency.
Hire Rookie
The newcomer class, perfect for those entering 24-hour karting for the first time.
Emphasis on learning, safety, and completing the full race distance rather than pure pace.
Technical & Administrative Notes
Teams must declare their class during registration.
Championship points are awarded within each class at every round.
Trophies presented per class at each event and overall at season end.
Technical parity, including fuel, tyre, and weight checks, is overseen by Teesside Motorsports officials using Alpha Timing systems.
