Campillos, Spain

Why Campillos is a must-race event

Located in Málaga, Spain, the KartCenter Campillos circuit boasts a length of 1,580 metres and covers more than 120,000 m² of racing complex.

It is internationally homologated by the Commission Internationale de Karting / Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (CIK/FIA) and has hosted major international karting events including the 2021 World Championship.
The layout is challenging and varied — drivers will face technical sections, fast straights and a circuit that tests both physical stamina and driving precision over endurance distances.

Event format and who’s eligible

For this round of the 2026 24‑Hour Karting Championship 2026, both Hire Kart teams and Owner Driver teams will compete together on the Campillos grid. Teams will battle through 24 hours of racing, sharing pit-strategy, driver stints and the unique endurance dynamic.
In the Owner Driver category, it’s a key round (also paired with British) where owner-driver outfits get full access to the endurance experience alongside the hire-kart teams.

What to expect on-track

Length & endurance demands: Because the circuit is long (1,580 m) and has undulating terrain, expect fewer laps per stint and more emphasis on consistency, kart management and fatigue. Kart Center Campillos+1

Mixed team strategy: Whether your team is hire-kart or owner-driver, you’ll need strong coordination among drivers, strategic refuelling/pit stops and fresh changeovers to maintain pace deep into the night.

Technical but fast: While there are fast sections, the track is known for its technical corners where smoothness trumps aggressive kerbing – one guide notes that “smoothness and stability of the kart will prevail”. KartletiX

Scenery & surroundings: Based in Andalusia, it’s a beautiful venue with a solid infrastructure, making it not just a race but a full team experience.

Top tips for teams

Prioritise learning the circuit: With a long lap and many corners, knowing your braking zones, safest kerb lines and driver shift-handovers will pay big dividends.

Plan your night stints: As the track will change with night conditions (temperatures drop, visibility shifts), plan driver rotation and kart changes accordingly.

Keep the karts on-line: The facility comments highlight that jumping kerbs in key corners may cost more time than it gains—focus on clean lines. KartletiX

Leverage the venue’s facilities: Use the paddock, garage, and hospitality options to manage driver rest, maintenance and team logistics efficiently.

Why this race matters

Campillos sets the tone for the season. As the opening round (1-3 May) of the 24-Hour Karting Championship 2026, it gives teams the chance to stake an early claim, iron out endurance operations and build momentum. Being at such a renowned and high-spec circuit gives an added prestige to the event — for owner-drivers and hire-kart teams alike
